TOGETHER WE BUILD

Join us on our journey to A new home

IT’s time to grow

For 26 years, Service Dogs of Virginia has been changing lives by partnering highly trained dogs with children, adults, and veterans living with disabilities. Each year, the need for these life-changing partnerships continues to grow — and today, we have an extraordinary opportunity to expand our impact for generations to come

Our new campus will provide the space and specialized facilities needed to breed, raise, train, and place more exceptional service dogs than ever before. Designed to support every stage of a dog’s journey, this new home will strengthen our ability to serve individuals, families, and facilities across Virginia.

Together, we can build a future filled with greater independence, confidence, and hope. We invite you to join us on this journey.

Will You Help Us Finish?

We are close to the finish line--- having raised over 70% of our $6.6 million goal.

We invite you to help us get there.  Help us fortify SDV for the road ahead and decrease the number of individuals and families waiting for a service dog.

Your support will help more Virginians in need for many years to come. Thank you!

Questions?

For questions or to set up your multi-year pledge, email Tina Floyd at tinafloyd@servicedosgva.org

We are unable to meet the growing demand for service dogs throughout the state, and the limitations of our physical space make it impossible to grow.

Today, one shared training space must serve multiple purposes — dog training, family meetings, puppy classes, and exercise —with no ability to run these programs simultaneously. Limited kennel capacity forces dogs to be in office space during the day and also results in staff and volunteers to housing our dogs in training, restricting the number we can train and place each year.

The Challenge

At the same time, we need the ability to breed and raise more qualified puppies. While SDV has access to proven working dog bloodlines through the International Breeding Cooperative, we currently lack a dedicated space to whelp and raise litters safely and consistently.

As a result, individuals in need often face waiting periods averaging two years, and some high-demand programs must periodically close applications altogether.

OUr Progress

Phase 1

Construction is underway.

We're currently clearing the lot and establishing site access — laying the groundwork for concrete work and the arrival of prefabricated panels later this summer.

Every step forward brings us closer to a campus built to train and place more service dogs than ever before.

This Is Who We Build For
