"Rocco" with his stained glass wings and halo is here to represent St. Rocco, the healer and patron saint of dogs and the angelic dogs at SDV. They have a sacred bond with those to whom they give their divine aid. I was inspired by my belief that dogs are heaven sent.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: HELEN HILLIARD
Helen Hilliard is a Virginia-based artist renowned for her evocative oil paintings, specializing in realistic landscapes and still lives that capture the serene beauty of the natural world. Living in the Free Union, she draws deep inspiration from her surroundings. Her studio, Even’star Atelier is where Helen explores her love of painting and ART (Attention Restoration Theory), spending time gazing at peaceful scenery one can restore ones ability to think more clearly, even heal from injury.
