In order to save time and streamline the process, be sure you have read about Programs, Applicant Criteria, Application Process and FAQs .
Currently the wait list for a service dog is approximately two (2) years.
Service Dogs of Virginia does not train for the following:
Guide work for the blind
Hearing dogs for those with hearing impairment(s)
Seizure alert/response
Balance support while walking
Allergy detection
Psychiatric Service Dogs
Provide supervision, navigation, or safety from environmental hazards, aggression or personal protection
Soley for emotional comfort or social support
Does not provide owner training.
