Karen Eide
Karen is a mixed-media illustrator and painter whose work centers on the quiet poetry of the natural world. Her imagery draws from a personal iconography of flora and fauna, shaped by close observation and intuition. Animals often serve as central figures, expressing connection, resilience, and presence. For over twenty years, she has taught encaustic workshops independently and at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and maintains a studio at McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville.
