Lauren started working with SDV as an intern in 2011 and quickly became a valuable part of the team. In mid-2012 she came onboard full-time and now teaches the weekly Puppy Class and serves as the volunteer coordinator as well. Lauren graduated from the University of New England in Maine with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Behavior.

His prior work includes fundraising success with Fortune 500 corporations, the entertainment industry, and the Clinton Global Initiative among others. Bill owns an international travel company that specializes in developing service learning programs geared towards helping animals and children improve their quality of life in locations all over the world. Bill is also the host for a local radio talk show called Say Anything where he interviews "movers and shakers" from Charlottesville and the surrounding area.

In addition to our highly skilled staff, we rely on volunteers to raise and train our puppies. A number of volunteers help us with advanced training, follow-up client training, fundraising, and events. Medical professionals, a special education teacher, and a teacher from the Virginia Institute of Autism also work with us to shape our programs to specific clients’ needs.
